  • Albacor Shipping arranged the transport of one Yankee Dryer with 9.10 m length and 5.58 m diameter - 117700 kgs ( 30' long x 18' 7" diameter 260,000 lbs) as well as a second TAD dryer of same size with 62500 kgs (138,000 lbs) from direct discharge off MV 'Stadiongracht' on to one Nicholas Dual-lane trailer and one 13-axle trailer from Fairless Hills, PA to Lock Haven PA - including Utility management. Trucks departed Fairless Hills Monday May 7th and arrived safely in Lock Haven on Friday May 11th, 2007.

  • TThe New Glarus Brewing Company in New Glarus, Wisconsin produces world class, handcrafted beers for their friends in Wisconsin. With the success of "Stone Soup", "Spotted Cow" and other local favourites, the New Glarus Brewing Company is expanding their business. The Port of Milwaukee unloaded the vessel JULIA, with the equipment needed to expand. These 14 German made tanks were shipped from Bremen, Germany and delivered to the New Glarus facility by truck by Albacor Shipping (USA) Inc.

  • One 193 tons (425,000 lbs) transformer ( 890 x 449 x 434 cm / 29' x 14'6" x 14'2" ) is shipped from Holland to New York Port and then by barge and truck to Pooltney, Vermont.

  • A 575000 Lbs transformer was moved from New Orleans by Barge to Port of Catoosa, OK, discharged off Barge by Platform trailer, transloaded to Dual Lane Transport System, transported to Oologah, OK jobsite, transloaded back to Platform Trailer, moved into site and set on foundation.

  • Relocation of a 12,000 Tonnes Press from Remscheid, Germany to Danville, Illinois. This included pieces with weights up to 165 MT. Part of our scope of work was the stacking of the press. Several pieces had to be stood up prior to installation.
    Due to the tight space in the building, up to 3 gantry systems had to be used simultaneously. The 40 ton tie-rods were inserted through the roof.

  • One of four charter flights of a AN-124 aircraft with oilfield trailers and equipment from Houston or Toronto to Western Siberia. Payload for each flight was 110 MT (242000 lbs). We were able to fit up to 4 tractor trailers onto one flight.

  • A 185 MT transformer is being loaded from vessel to rail, as part of a move from Austria via Houston to California. Scope of work included offloading at destination and setting onto the pad.

  • Two of 4 transformers each 165 MT being shipped from Europe via Milwaukee to the Gardner Park Substation in Wisconsin. We also arranged the offloading and setting onto foundations.

  • Ocean transport of two reactor vessels, each 36.5 metres (120 feet) long, weighing 200,000 kgs each, from Port of Muroran, Japan to Vancouver, B.C. with oncarriage by rail to Mississauga, Ontario, with each vessel being bolstered over two heavy-duty railcars. 

  • 2 drilling rigs - total 9000 cbm - from Cyprus to Poti, Republic of Georgia, CIS. Our scope of work included preparing the cargo for shipment in Limassol and the ocean transport to liner out Poti, including supervision.
  • Shipment of approx. 120 MT of drilling pipe from Singapore to Port Sudan, including purchase of containers, racking of pipes and loading into containers.
  • Transport of dryer drums with over 18 feet (550 CMS) diameter from Edmonton to Fort Nelson, B.C. via the Northwest Territories.

  • Shipments of portable housing units from Calgary, Alberta via Montreal or Houston to various destinations in Africa.


  • Two KM plastic injection presses, each total 250 MT, from port of Norfolk, Va. to job-site in Tennessee, USA, as well as turn-key assembly and installation at site.
  • Inland transport from Veracruz, Mexico to final jobsite in Puebla for a total of 3 KM plastic injection presses.
  • Installation and transport from port of arrival Montreal to jobsite Aurora, Ont. of two KM presses - each approx. 300 MT.
  • One 1250 tons press from Krasnoyarsk, Russia St. Petersburg to Houston, Texas.
  • 6 used Erfurt presses - total 1000 MT - ex Russia to Puebla, Mexico via Veracruz. The presses originated from different places throughout Russia. We handled the transport from Russia via Veracruz straight to jobsite in Puebla, Mexico.
  • 10000 CBM of oilfield equipment and workforce housing from Alberta to Nishnevartovsk, Russia. The project involved guarded block trains from St. Petersburg to final destination.
  • Gas purification plant from Calgary to Argentina - including inland transport from Calgary to Houston involving oversized and heavy loads and oncarriage to destination jobsite and offloading.


  • 6 used heavy metal stamping presses from Russia via Mariupol, Ukraine to Canada - total 1200 MT. The project involved transport in Russia, oceanfreight and on-carriage to final destinations.
  • OSB Plant from Germany to Hudson Bay, Sask.  - 4800 FRT including heavy lifts up to 117 MT and 20 feet in width which had to be trucked from Houston to Saskatchewan for 2500 miles.


  • 4 x 800 tons and 2 x 500 tons single-action presses from Ishvesk, Russia via St. Petersburg to Brighton, Michigan.
  • Shipment of a 1600 ton stamping press from Cambridge, Ontario to Birmingham, England via rail, truck, Ro/Ro and truck on a door/door basis.
  • 1500 FRT of plant equipment from Germany to Philadelphia - with heavy pieces weighing up to 115 MT.
  • 3500 FRT press equipment from Germany to Detroit - heaviest piece 138 MT, using a non-geared ship with discharge being arranged by two mobile 500 ton cranes. (7 two-crane lifts)


  • A total of 4 x 800 tons presses from Korea to Mexico, shipped in two lots.
  • 2500 FRT dryers and equipment from various origins to Lac Megantic, Que.
  • Transport and Installation of a copper tube extrusion press, weighing 245 MT, from Germany via New Orleans per barge to Memphis, TN and rail to Arkansas, offload from rail, haul into the building and setting onto foundation.


  • Cement trucks from Calgary, Alberta to Kogalym, Russia


  • Twin Flex machine with accessories from Germany via Baltimore, MD to Indianapolis, IND. With pieces of 14'7" (445 cm) in height.
  • 6 Dryer Drum halves from Edmonton, Alberta to High Level, Alberta. Each 93 MT, 53'3" long by 19' diameter (16.23M x 5.80M)


  • Transport of a forging press by ocean vessel, rail and heavy road transporter from Germany to Columbus, OH. The scope of work included up-righting of the press frame weighing 145 MT into a vertical position and setting it onto foundation. The work was carried out to customer’s complete satisfaction on time, on schedule and within the budget.



  • Shipment of one Copper Tube Extrusion Press, weighing 245 MT (540000 lbs), from Germany to Fulton, Mississippi, USA.
    The press was shipped by ocean vessel from Rotterdam to New Orleans, from there by barge to Memphis, by rail to Fulton and had to be moved inside the building by special hydraulic transporter.
    Albacor Shipping Inc. was responsible for the transport as well as unpacking and setting on foundation inside the building. The press was delivered and installed on time and to the fullest satisfaction of the customer.






  • Transport of 15 crates of press equipment, the heaviest being 126 MT (277000 lbs) from Antwerp via the port of Cleveland to Twinsburg, Ohio.
