The Banning, California Office, under the management of Justin Gilmet, will continue to handle our special rail services.

Albacor Shipping took part at the BreakBulk Exhibition on 17-19 May 2011 in Antwerp. Representatives of Albacor Shipping offices from USA, Canada and Russia worked together on the booth. Being a member of the Heavy Lift group and WWPC (Worldwide Project Consortium) Albacor Shipping frequently takes part in Breakbulk events around the world.

Breakbulk Europe is the largest and most important gathering in Europe for companies involved in the shipping of heavy-lift, project cargo and traditional breakbulk cargoes. It is where shippers have the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with the leading specialized carriers, forwarders, ports, terminals and packers who have the expertise and resources to handle oversized cargoes with unique handling requirements.

Michael Halm has joined Albacor Shipping, Houston in the position of Project Sales Manager. Michael comes to us with great experience in both freight forwarding and project shipping. We are welcoming Michael in the Albacor family.

Business is brisk at Albacor Shipping in Edmonton. Since it's opening in March 2011, the branch has already outgrown its original office.

With an increased presence in the Russian Market, Albacor Shipping participated at the well-known TransRussia Exhibition in Moscow.
It was a great opportunity to meet both customers and international business partners alike.

The following offices of Albacor Shipping Inc. and Albacor Shipping (USA) Inc. were certified: Toronto, Mahwah, Montreal, Calgary, Houston, Banning and Edmonton. We congratulate each team for this great achievement.

Albacor Shipping, Toronto, handled the shipment of an outstanding piece of art, the "Ship O' Fools" by the world famous artists Cardiff and Miller, from Grindroc, BC via Vancouver to Germany. It had been exhibited at the Luminato Art Festival in Toronto in 2010 and will be displayed in Berlin and other major European cities in 2011, before returning to British Columbia.

The image of the ship of fools, an uncaptained vessel full of aimless passengers absorbed in vanity and frivolity, has long fascinated writers and artists. Now, in a commission from Luminato, award-winning Canadian artists Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller turn this metaphor into a playful reality: enter the cabin of their transformed ship and find yourself immersed in a meticulously detailed experience of a wandering vessel. The illusion is a delight in itself, but the cabin is also occupied by a traveller seeking salvation. Every element of your experience aboard reflects the traveller's obsession - and invites you, the viewer, to ponder your own voyage through life.

Albacor Shipping is opening an office with immediate effect in the city of Edmonton, Alberta.

The office will be under the direction of Gary Rowntree, V.P. Alberta and will be staffed by Sidney Braybrook, who will relocate from our Calgary office, as well as Tammy Ngo, who has recently joined us. A warm welcome for Tammy to our Albacor Shipping family.

Steffen has many years of experience in the freight forwarding industry in Germany, specializing in rail and road transport specifically to Russia and the whole CIS and Eastern Countries. He has worked for major freight forwarding companies in Berlin before joining Albacor.

Georg Fischer has joined Albacor Shipping in the capacity of Sales Manager with immediate effect. Born in Trier, the oldest city of Germany, Georg completed his education as a trained freight forwarder in the "shipping capital of the world" Bremen in 1989, and then moved to Stuttgart working for an international freight forwarder first in operations and later in sales. He was transferred to Jersey City, NJ in 1996 to be a sales representative and became later the Route Development Manager Germany for the North East. In addition to that, Georg has acted as manager projects for that company since 2006. Welcome to the Albacor family, Georg.

Albacor Shipping welcomes Bud Joyce in the capacity of Regional Sales Manager, US-Midwest. Bud has extensive experience in the heavylift, oversize and project transpoartation as is well known to manufacturers and exporters. Alberta's economy is booming, especially in the energy sector, due to the large expansions in the oil sands in the northern part of the province. Albacor Shipping Inc. has made the commitment to it's many clients in that region by opening an office in Calgary.
